With Vista’s release coming soon, Microsoft is remembering the epic release party of Windows 95 that corresponded with an Office suite upgrade. It was all the news could talk about, there was a big release festival in Redmond, and people waited in lines at computer stores for hours to get it. So are Vista, Office 2007 and Exchange Server 2007 as much of a must-have as the 95 release was? We think so. A lot has changed since the 2001 release of XP. Vista will have much-needed improved security, mobility, visual appeal, backup systems and search capability. Only time will tell if consumers hype Microsoft’s release like they did 11 years ago.
