"up to date now..."
Strengths: safe and secure, good job at tracking finances, downloading transactions from credit card accounts, etc.
Weaknesses: a few things have moved around... will take a little time getting used to the new locations for certain actions (for example, to reconcile an account, you have to click on account actions and select from drop down - whereas before there was a shortcut icon at the top)
Comments: have been a quicken user forever and always liked how it makes my personal finance tracking easier. had been on 2009 version for awhile and felt like it was time to upgrade. looking good so far!
"Upgraded from 2009 to 2012"
Strengths: The upgrade was really easy and quick. I did not encounter ANY problems.
Weaknesses: I was a little disappointed that the only changes seemed to be to the appearance. I'm still having problems with dropped connections for the One Step Update.
Comments: I've used Quicken for close to 20 years. The upgrades are not always easy.
"Forced expiration"
Strengths: Works OK
Weaknesses: If you use the data download feature, Intuit forces you to upgrade every 2-3 years even if you are happy with the current version. That ticks me off!
Comments: I would change to another program except that I have used it so long that all my data is in it.
