  • “Upgrade from Windows 7 Home to Pro”

    Elliott Stern

    Nov 22, 2011

    Strengths:
This is an easy and cost effective way to upgrade the Pro version. No need to reload or reinstall all your software.

    Weaknesses:
    None seen so far

    Comments:
Business users who should be on the Professional version may have bought the standard Home version by mistake or based on price. Most business users should be using the Pro version. This is the best way to handle this.

    Aisha

    Sep 22, 2010

    Comments:
  • “recommended upgrade”

    Howard Epstein

    Sep 14, 2010

    Strengths:
fast, stable, good for networks (more intuitive than win XP); easy installation

    Weaknesses:
some of the tool bar functions in Win XP do not work in Win 7 (like Copernic Search Bar). Some software will not work with 64 bit (like trend micro RUBotted)

    Comments:
So far I like this a lot better than windows XP, but there is a small learning curve. There are helpful microsoft forums that one can search on Google to automate simple tasks (e.g., "how do I make a volume control shortcut on my desk?). Seems more stable - much more stable than XP.
