Veeam Backup & Replication Standard for Hyper-V provides fast, flexible and reliable recovery of virtualized applications and data on Microsoft Hyper-V. It unifies backup and replication in a single solution, and offers industry-first capabilities for Hyper-V.
2-in-1: backup and replication
Now you can get Hyper-V virtual server backup and replication from one unified product. Not only can you backup your VMs, but you can also perform image-based replication either on-site for high availability or off-site for disaster recovery. With Veeam’s near-continuous data protection (CDP), if a VM goes down, you can immediately fail over to a reliable replica. Single-click failback makes returning to the production Hyper-V host easy by only sending the changes since failover.
Veeam’s changed block tracking for Hyper-V delivers 20x faster backups by tracking changes as they occur, scanavoiding the overhead of difference scans during incremental backups.
You can now securely delegate restores to helpdesk personnel. This allows Windows guest files to be restored directly to their original location — without an agent in the VM. Delegated administrators do not require additional permissions or have access to sensitive files — they simply find and restore files back to the original location without having access to file contents.
There are no agents for you to license or deploy, manage, monitor or update on hosts or VMs.
Built-in compression and deduplication
With compression and deduplication included at no extra charge, you can manage the large volumes of data generated by image-based backups. Reduce backup storage consumption and the amount of data sent over the network. Combined with bandwidth throttling and scheduling capabilities, Veeam extends the protection of your Hyper-V environment to an offsite location or into the cloud.
Fast, flexible recovery
Restore an entire VM or individual Windows guest files from the same image-level backup — with no staging, agents or indexes required.
Synthetic full backups
This approach to backup eliminates the need for full periodic backups by creating new full backups from incremental backups. It is the most efficient way to protect very large VMs that often take a long time to backup.
