Threshold values
Low disk space error messages on LUDF and NUDF can now be turned off. Zero percent threshold value is allowed now to stop getting low disk error messages on machines with huge storage.
Push install desktop agent agent
Desktop and Laptop Option 7.0 supports push-installing the Desktop and Laptop Option Agents from the administration console. Multiple Desktop and Laptop Option Agents can be simultaneously installed on remote desktop machines.
Push install maintenance server
Desktop and Laptop Option 7.0 supports push-installing the maintenance server to manage storage locations from the administration console.
Remote desktop and laptop database install
Desktop and Laptop Option 7.0 supports remote Desktop and Laptop Option database installation during the server components installation time to push the Desktop and Laptop Option database into the remote Microsoft SQL database server. The Desktop and Laptop Option administration console and SQL server are installed on two different machines.
Symantec LiveUpdate
LiveUpdate is now used to deliver selected security patches from Desktop and Laptop Option 7.0 to the Desktop and Laptop Option administration server. LiveUpdate, which provides updates, upgrades, and new versions of Desktop and Laptop Option, is installed manually. Desktop and Laptop Option installs the latest version of LiveUpdate. If a previous version of LiveUpdate is detected on the computer, Desktop and Laptop Option upgrades it. You can view any hot fixes or service packs that are installed on the media server. When LiveUpdate installs updates on the Desktop and Laptop media server, it also determines if computers on which the Remote Desktop and Laptop Agent for Windows systems have the latest updates. You can push-install or manually install those updates to Desktop and Laptop Option Remote Agents. You can use the LiveUpdate Administrator utility with LiveUpdate. The LiveUpdate Administrator utility allows an administrator to modify LiveUpdate so that network users can download program and virus definition updates from an internal server rather than going to the LiveUpdate server over the Internet.
Cluster support
Desktop and Laptop Option 7.0 supports MSCS Clustering of Desktop and Laptop Administration servers providing failover capability. In a server cluster, Desktop and Laptop Option can protect data on local disks and shared disks. Also, Desktop and Laptop Option can protect SQL and Microsoft Exchange databases that are configured as virtual server applications as they have an IP address resource, a network name resource, and are displayed on the network with a unique server name (the virtual server name). Clustered servers provide high availability of applications and data to users. In a clustered server, several servers (nodes) are linked in a network. The run cluster software allows every node to access the shared disks. If a node is unavailable, cluster resources migrate to an available node (failover). The shared disks and the virtual server are kept available. During failover, you experience only a short interruption in service.

Desktop and Laptop Option 7.0 provides support for migration of Backup Exec Desktop and Laptop Option to Desktop and Laptop Option 7.0. Desktop and Laptop Option 7.0 is a unified and independent version of Backup Exec Desktop and Laptop Option and Symantec NetBackup Desktop and Laptop Option.
Command line option to list desktop and laptop desktop
Desktop and Laptop Option 7.0 provides a new command-line option to list all the Desktop Agent machines that are connected to the Desktop and Laptop Administration Console.
