Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager 2010 External Connector with Software Assurance through Open Value Licensing

Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager (FIM) 2010 changes the current state of identity management by providing powerful end user self-service capabilities. IT professionals are also given more tools to solve day-to-day tasks such as delegating administration and creating workflows for common identity management tasks. In addition, FIM 2010 is built on a .NET and WS- based foundation for developers to build more customized and extensible solutions.

This product is available through the Microsoft Open Value Program. This Open Value Paid Upfront sku means that you pay the amount of the license upfront. There are no other payments (unless you decide to add on additional terms of Software Assurance). Open Value gives you the rights to the license indefinitely. Software Assurance (SA) is included for the first three years which entitles you to any new editions that are released during those three years. Software Assurance also includes 24x7 support and exclusive access to Microsoft E-learning Online. After your three year term, you have the option to add on another three year term of Software Assurance to continue with access to support and the latest versions.

An External Connector grants access to the server by an unlimited number of external users such as business partners, suppliers, customers, retirees, and alumni. Basically, an external user is a person who is not an employee or similar personnel of the company, such as a business partner or customer. With this license you do not need to buy individual CALs. It is licensed per server.
