Expression Encoder Pro simplifies publishing video to Microsoft Silverlight. Encode a wide array of video file formats, stream live from webcams and camcorders or screen capture your PC. Make simple edits to video files and enhance your media with overlays and advertising. Choose encoding settings, choose from a range of player templates and publish rich media experiences with Microsoft Silverlight.
Prepare video for encoding
Make a range of often needed edits directly in Encoder Pro without needing to go back to a nonlinear editor. Trim in/out points, add additional clips, cut unwanted sections, then add graphic, video or XAML overlays all using a new frame accurate timeline.
VC-1 or H.264 codecs - the choice is yours
Output your video in either industry standard format. The high performance encoding engine supports both multiple cores and multiprocessors for fast encoding with incredibly detailed control over the output characteristics.
Maximize your audience with caption support
Reference your existing caption or subtitle files for playback in Silverlight. You can specify a number of file types (DFXP, SMI, SUB, SRT, LRC) that will be converted to a sidecar file that will maintain any styling in the original file and displays them in our new Silverlight templates.
Software development kit (SDK)
Access all the powerful features of the advanced encoding engine, including the new Live Smooth Streaming and screen capture functionality, through a fully featured SDK for the ultimate in customized encoding.

Licensing: a minimum of 5 licenses is required. This license comes with Microsoft's maintenance program, Software Assurance.
This product is available through the Microsoft Open Value Program. This Open Value Paid Upfront sku means that you pay the amount of the license upfront. There are no other payments (unless you decide to add on additional terms of Software Assurance). Open Value gives you the rights to the license indefinitely. Software Assurance (SA) is included for the first three years which entitles you to any new editions that are released during those three years. Software Assurance also includes 24x7 support and exclusive access to Microsoft E-learning Online. After your three year term, you have the option to add on another three year term of Software Assurance to continue with access to support and the latest versions.
