"Like it!"
Strengths: I tried Vista when it came out and hated it. Windows 7 is more comparable to XP - in terms that it is self-explanatory and easy to use yet still has really cool features. I love the 'snipping tool' - instead of having to do a 'print screen' and open it up in an editing program to crop, then copy and paste - you can just simply drag the rectangle and hit 'copy' - it's so easy and convenient! The other new feature that i love is that windows snapping feature where you drag the window to the top corner and it will automatically resize it to half the screen so you can have two windows on one screen (cheaper way than having multiple monitors)
Weaknesses: None
"Newest windows desktop OS"
Strengths: Install was simple. No hitches or problems with updates either. Am running as a virtual machine in a new Mac Pro using VMWare Fusion v3.1 and seems quite stable. Like the new print dialog on the side of the document. Interface seems a bit more simple than XP.
Weaknesses: Seems like 64 bit programs (like I.E.) should be the default and not have 2 different versions showing up on the app list. Seems fluid but just a little sluggish (could be the fact it's running virtual).
Comments: Purchased to run with VMWare Fusion
"An amazing operating system"
Strengths: Great short cuts, easy access to my entire computer, great wallpaper designs, and improved audio/video functions.
Weaknesses: Nothing that I can find so far
Comments: awesome improvement from the prior version.
"recommended upgrade"
Strengths: fast, stable, good for networks (more intuitive than win XP); easy installation
Weaknesses: some of the tool bar functions in Win XP do not work in Win 7 (like Copernic Search Bar). Some software will not work with 64 bit (like trend micro RUBotted)
Comments: So far I like this a lot better than windows XP, but there is a small learning curve. There are helpful microsoft forums that one can search on Google to automate simple tasks (e.g., "how do I make a volume control shortcut on my desk?). Seems more stable - much more stable than XP.
"Great OS"
Strengths: Best Windows yet. What Vista was meant to be...forget all past Os's and move into 64x!
Weaknesses: None
"Great OS "
Strengths: Ease of setup, everything works. Stable, fast, no problems.
Weaknesses: doesn't remember window size too well..... need 3rd party software to manage
Comments: I was skeptical about upgrading, but now, I would not go back to XP (even though it was good), for anything. I didn't use Vista, but I heard too many bad things about it.
"Big improvement to Vista!"
Strengths: Faster and not as intrusive
Few driver issues
Weaknesses: Could be less resource intensive
Comments: big improvement in terms of utility and overall looks
"much easier to work with"
Strengths: Easy to install and work with. Seems more secure than previous versions.
Weaknesses: I'm not aware of any so far.
"Great deal, fast shipping, best OS"
Strengths: best OS - was ready to go Apple and give up on MS
Weaknesses: good for just 1 computer use
Comments: I like it
"Love doing business with these guys"
Strengths: What can you say about Win7 - it looks like Vista but it sure doesn't crash like Vista! No complaints yet.
Weaknesses: Can't think of any
Comments: I have been doing business with Softwaremedia.com for years and it is ALWAYS a pleasure.
"Made the jump over Vista to Windows"
Strengths: 64 bit OS, allows me to take advantage of my 64 bit CAD applications.
Running this OS in Parallels for Macbook Pro.
Works great!
Weaknesses: None
Comments: Whenever I am in the market to buy software, I shop at softwaremedia.com. Finding what you are looking for is a breeze, and they have excellent customer service.
"I changed to windows 7 from xp pro "
Strengths: Runs faster and I can run all my programs
including xp programs
Weaknesses: none I have found
Comments: Very Happy
