Windows Server Licensing
For Windows Server Licensing, a server license and a minimum of 5 CALs are all required. A Terminal Server CAL is required to use Terminal Server or otherwise host a remote graphical user interface session, except for a console session. The External Connector License can be purchased to enable access to servers instead of buying individual CALs.
