"The industry standard..."
Strengths: Photoshop is Photoshop. Sure, there are other packages out there that offer similar functionality, but not to the same level. Photoshop sets the standard.
Weaknesses: Cost. It's not cheap. But if you qualify for an upgrade, it makes it a lot more bearable. And Software Media had the best price online.
"All the tools most users need"
Strengths: Photoshop: Version 9 is much more powerful than our previous version (5.5). The selection tools are excellent.
Premier: We have lots of VHS tapes we are transferring to DVDs. There are segments we want to delete, and sections where we need to adjust the audio volume. We tried other software, but it did not keep the video and audio synchronized when we removed segments. Premier keeps things synchronized, and provides a way to adjust volume of sections.
Weaknesses: There are so many tools, the learning curve is long and steep. Doing simple editing comes easily, but using the power you pay for takes an investment in learning. If you need only very basic photo and video editing, these applications could be overkill.
Comments: This bundle is a good value to get both applications. SoftwareMedia's order processing and shipping were very quick.
"Great for projects at home!"
Strengths: This software is great for novice users! I was able to make some great projects using my pictures with little effort. So easy to use! I would reccomend for the typical home user.
Weaknesses: None identified yet.
